IMG 0777a Constantine | Diamond Life

My friends are mad talented. Got to spend some quality time in NYC with the one and only Cavi Moet aka Constantine. I was, and still am, just in awe of her ambition, work ethic, and talent. Visual merchandiser by day + musician and fashion designer by night = one bad ass chick 24/7.

If you’re in NYC, swing by the C Wonder store in SoHo and check out her latest window display and pick up some dope belt buckles she designed. Fashion pundits, vatos, and eses all around the world agree: “…she has single handedly brought back letter buckles and made them a staple in the closets of the everyday gangster.” Word on the streets is that Oprah Winfrey is a big fan and snatched up the letters in her name and is rockin’ em with her creased Dickies as we speak.

And if you’re a bride to be, make sure you get at her for bridesmaid dresses and, I’m sure soon enough, wedding gowns. I’ll keep you in the loop when that pops off.

Follow her on Twitter and Soundcloud.

I dated a chick named Valerie once… despite this, Mark Ronson’s version of Valerie featuring Amy Winehouse is still one of my favorite songs of all time.

beatrock combined 520 Beatrock Music: One Year Anniversary

My boy Fatgums is having a one year anniversary party for his label, Beatrock Music. I’ve written about him before but I don’t think he truly receives all the shine he deserves. I’m talking international type shinin’.

I don’t wanna dive into his amazing and inspiring journey of graffiti x design x djing x UCLA Med Schoolin’ x and now record label owner but just know that this dude truly is the epitome of someone who follows his heart and his dreams.

I’ve shot a few things for him in the past that we’ve turned into shirts and posters. He’s also used some of those photos for the flyers to promote the anniversary shows:

If y’all are free this Friday (LBC) and Saturday (SFC), go check them out and show your support. And if you can’t, just make sure you hit up Beatrock’s site for a ton of free music, full-length albums, clothing, accessories, videos, and more.

As my boy Fatgums always says, “Support independent hip-hop!”

Before he was Cee Lo Green and before Gnarls Barkley, I just knew him as Cee Lo from the Goodie Mob. I was jamming out to beats like “Dirty South”, “They Don’t Dance No Mo”, and “Get Rich To This”. They were mad ill back in the day.

I know everyone’s been jockin’ Cee Lo’s grammy nominated hit (and rightfully so, it’s gooood) but I for one dig his take on Band of Horses’ “No One’s Gonna Love You” a lot more so. The video is insane and serves as a huge visual inspiration to me photographically. And I absolutely love this song.

Warning: Video is semi-NSFW due to boobies.

Taking cues from both songs, my boy Cee Lo Green sings it best… “I’m sorry I can’t afford a Ferrari… but no one’s gonna love you more than I do.”

True that.
