Manny Pacquiao is slated to battle Juan Manual Marquez next Saturday, November 12. Though it ain’t the fight that everyone is clamoring for (Pacman vs. Money Mayweather), if history is any indication, it should still be a ridiculous fight. I remember watching the first two fights between these two and they were extremely close, with the first bout being ruled a draw and the second fight Manny winning mostly because he started off strong with a knockdown in the third round. In both fights, Manny was off to fast starts with early knockdowns but he could never finish Marquez, allowing him to come back and make both fights highly competitive and exciting.

For the past two fights, I’ve been lucky to document the Manny Pacquiao events for Nike prior to his fights. The last event was held at the Nike Vault at Staples Center and in true Nike fashion, they pulled out all the stops. Power 106′s¬†DJ Mando Fresko¬†provided the beats and emceed the event and Jeff Garcia interviewed Manny himself.

Food and drinks, tons of product giveaways, Nike ID for custom t-shirt screens and embroidery of exclusive Manny graphics by Manny’s personal tattoo artist Chris Garcia, an EA Fight Night competition and X-Box giveaway… it was an event to remember for all the Manny fans in attendance. I have to say that Manny Pacquiao fans are some of the most passionate fans I have ever seen. One dude even had a tattoo of Manny’s signature on his leg.

And don’t forget to tune in to the fight next Saturday! GO MANNY!
